The murder of a 64-year-old father of seven children by assailants suspected to be herdsmen at his farm in the Igbatoro, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo has sparked protests in the city.

Reports say the murder of the victim identified as Linus Ogbee, in Ilion Camp has sparked protests led by farmers and residents from over 200 villages who condemned the attack and have called for the culprits to be brought to book.

According to the reports, the victim had gone to his farm on that fateful day but didn’t return home prompting his family members to launch a search for him.

After a frantic search, his lifeless body was later found in the bush riddled with bullets.

Reports also revealed that the victim’s body was found a few metres to the farm of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, which the herdsmen also invaded last week.
The farmer’s death was confirmed by Femi Joseph, the state police spokesman, Femi Joseph, who added that an autopsy and investigations into the matter would reveal the actual cause of the man’s demise.
