Abia Launches Offensive On Kidnappers, Destroys Suspects’ Houses

The Abia State Government has launched an offensive against suspected kidnappers in the state after it demolished properties of those believed to be engaged in the criminal act.

Reports say two houses belonging to a set of twins identified as Chinenye and Chigozie Israel who are suspected kidnappers were destroyed in Umuerim Nsirimo in Umuahia South LGA of the state as well as property worth thousands of naira.

The shops of one of the wives of the suspects, was also demolished and even a drinking joint said to be used by kidnappers as rendezvous was not also spared.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Awa Udonsi Agwu, while speaking to newsmen at the end of the demolition exercise said; “it was a law in Abia State that any location owned by kidnappers or where they used for their activities or meeting point should be demolished.”
